Somayeh Allahyari

Somayye was born in a snowy day in February of 1983 in Abhar. She graduated from primary and guidance school in the same town. She was very successful in scientific, art and Qoran festivals. Her family moved to Qom and she continued her high school studies in Qom. She entered Sharif University of Technology in 2001 as a chemical engineering student. She continued master of science degree in Sahand University of Technology in thermo kinetic field. Her thesis topic is about "Sonosynthesized Platinum and Ruthenium Catalysts on Commercial CeO2 for the Catalytic Wet Air Oxidation of Phenol" under supervision of Dr. Mohammad Haghighi and Dr. Behzad Pour Abbas. At the moment she is doing a PhD program with a topic of "Microreactor Fabrication for Conversion of Natural Gas to Syngas" in Chemical Engineering Faculty at SUT under supervision of Dr Dr. Mohammad Haghighi and Dr. Amanollah Ebadi. Thesis abstract:

Pt and Ru catalysts on commercial CeO2 were developed using sonochemical irradiation. The catalysts were characterized by XRD, SEM and TG-DTA methods. Amorf and nanosize particles were confirmed by electron microscopy for Pt/CeO2(s). Catalytic wet air oxidation (CWAO) of phenol was carried out in a batch reactor at 100 oC and atmospheric pressure. The high activity of Pt supported on commercial CeO2 catalyst in the removal of phenol was demonstrated. The catalytic performances of Ru/CeO2(s) were similar to those of the catalysts prepared by impregnation of commercial CeO2 supports. The influence of conditions such as phenol concentration, catalyst loading was Investigated. At 100oC, with a phenol concentration of 500ppm, the optimal catalyst loading was 10gl_1. The efficacy of CWAO of phenol decreased as initial phenol concentration was raised (from 500 to 2000ppm). At 500ppm phenol concentration, 10 gr.l-1 catalyst loading, Pt/CeO2(s) can eliminate phenol about 40% higher than Ru/CeO2(s) and impregnation synthesized catalysts.
