Ali Alizadeh

Success is more likely a journey than a distance; I am Ali Alizadeh Eslami. It is an honorary for me to introduce myself. I was born in Tabriz (09 August 1987). My esprit to Chemical Engineering approximately dates back to 9 or 10 years ago when I attempted to build an electrolyze which generate Hydrogen from Water, it was just a simple lab experiment but to me, a spark of mind to observe that theoretical lessons could be turned in to the reality and usage. Gradually I understood that doing any research demands a strong knowledge relied on basic theories as well. Prior to university I always enjoyed studying mathematics, physics, and chemistry which aims me to purse an opportunity to study chemical engineering at SUT (Sahand University of Technology) at 2005. Since the first year I get involved in activities held on chemical engineering scientific association which managed by students. Fortunately at the second year of university I met Dr. Haghighi, my pervious intention to practical works led me to join RCRC (Reactor & Catalysis Research Center). I started my B.Sc Research project on synthesis of Nano structured Catalyst for the CO2 Reforming of Methane under his supervision, where I’ve learned the implements of conducting a research and moreover the significances of teamwork, with the aid of other PhD students, I become more confident working with laboratory equipments. All of these enthusiastically persuade me about my major. At the 3rd year of my study, as taking my assistant course; I was encouraged to enroll in Research Institute of Petroleum Industry (RIPI). It was a noble leisure to learn more about the performances of Nanotechnology and also advanced laboratory instruments. Over my research work; I considered ANGH (Adsorbed Natural Gas Hydrate), and made comparisons between capacities of adsorption by Carbon NanoTubes (SWCNT, MWCNT) and Activated Carbons under supervision of Dr. Alimorad Rashidi (Head of Nanotechnology Center at RIPI) Recently I am involved with a research group on Growth of Carbon NanoTubes at PPRC (Plasma Physics Research Center) under supervision of Prof. Mahmood Ghoranneviss, (Dean of Plasma Physics Research Center). I bring along a strong ambition of fundamentals in Engineering, an attitude for teamwork, a zest for challenges and an enthusiastic desire to learn all I can.

Project title:         Synthesis of Nanocatalyst for Methane Dry Reforming Process
Supervisor:
Dr. Mohammad Haghighi
Co-Supervisor:
Nader Rahemi
Thesis abstract:

During the past decades, reforming of methane with Carbon dioxide to produce synthesis gas (H2 and CO) has become much important. The research effort has focused on catalyst development to improve its activity and resistance to carbon formation so as to achieve stable long-term operation. Nickel supported on Alumina was synthesized by impregnation and Sol-Gel methods at Reactor & Catalyst Research Center, the effect of Zro2, MgO and CeO2 was studied to enhance the Alumina supports, moreover Ni/Al2O3 and Ni/(Al2O3- Zro2) was promoted with Cobalt and Copper so we achieved a better size distribution with copper. A hydrothermal autoclave fabricated for further studies on the effect of pressure and temperature in drying process.
