Saeed Saedy

Saeed was born at Yengeje, a village 23KM far from Hashtrood in Eastern Azerbaijan, Iran; and grew up in there until his family migrated to Hashtrood when he was 6. He started school at Shahid Beheshti primary school and continued studying at Shahid Bahonar and Shahid Mousavi elite schools. He got a few awards when he was at school (eg. third places in Iranian Khwarazmi Festival). Saeed is keen on sport; he has been working on Taekwondo since 1999 and has black 2st DAN belt in 2005 and wind some gold and silver medals in Iranian National games. After school he passed Iranian university entrance exam and started his education as a BSc student at Sahand University of Technology (SUT). He started his studying with mining engineering but decide to change his studying field to chemical engineering and now he is studying chemical engineering at SUT. He is also an active member of RCRC as well as EERC research centers at SUT. At the moment he works on catalytic oxidation of waste gases, natural gas reforming and biological wastewater treatment.

Project title:         Design and Fabrication of Nano-Structured Microreactor for Conversion of Methane to Synthetic Gas
Supervisor:
Dr. Mohammad Haghighi
Co-Supervisor:

Thesis abstract:

Micro reactors are such a novel equipments in chemical engineering which intensify chemical reactions and also can provide improved process control, high performance reaction and subsequent economic advantages. Furthermore, natural gas is an important energy and chemical source that can be increased in value using reforming processes and produce new valuable chemicals. Syn-gas is an intermediate product in natural gas utilization. Its unique properties causes good ability for reform to other complex materials. Natural gas reforming to syn-gas is an important process in petrochemical industries to supply syn-gas as downstream plants feed. The main goal of this work is to design and fabricate a micro reactor for natural gas reforming and testing various nano-catalysts performance in it.
