Ali Alizadeh Eslami
my CV

I am Ali Alizadeh Eslami, was born in Tabriz at 1987, I knew early on what I wanted to do, yes, Chemical engineering! It full fills my demands to answer why and how questions in daily life phenomena. At the second year of my bachelor it was an honor for me to meet Dr. Haghighi, Founding director of the Reactor and Catalysis Research Center. In fact RCRC was the place that provides intense opportunities for students who aims practical works and conducting extensive researches. The work is hard but it's very satisfying too. There is a friendly atmosphere between the members of different groups and you can always find a helpful hand to ask questions and sharing ideas. My primary research areas are synthesis of nano-catalysts, and natural gas conversion. My B.Sc Research project was the synthesis of the nano-catalysts for the dry reforming of methane. Now I am about to start working on enhancing zeolites for conversion of the methanol to olefins. I intend to explore designing catalysts more deeply, which is a really vast scope of science and engineering. It may take more than a life time, because in this field, there are continually new points to learn and novel topics to deal with!

Thesis title:           Synthesis of Nanostructured MnSAPO-34 Molecular sieves Using Microwave Irradiation for the Process of Methanol to Light Olefins
Supervisor:
Dr. Mohammad Haghighi
Thesis abstract:

In this dissertation enhancing physicochemical properties of the catalyst led to the promotion of MnAPSO-34 via two different heating methods; microwave irradiation and using conventional ceramic heater. Important guidelines of pervious researches including effective precursors, synthesis temperature and adjustment of the aging time are meant to be carefully assessed during the synthesis procedure to obtain desired properties of the catalyst. For preparation of catalysts, two pilots: hydrothermal and microwave-hydrothermal were set up at Reactor & Catalysis Research Center of Sahand University of Technology. The results of this work indicate that addition of manganese has improved the physicochemical properties catalyst by achieving the uniform particle size distribution and better catalytic performance. Characterizations confirmed the formation of SAPO-34 structure for synthesized samples via microwave method. FESEM images have declared relative similarity of spherical morphology of MnAPSO-34 (MW) with MnAPSO-34 (HT). Higher microwave power has appropriately effected the crystal growth of SAPO-34. However, a lower selectivity for ethylene and propylene is gained for mentioned sample and dimethyl ether was the major product. This phenomenon could be attributed to the presence of the ultrafine particles in the range of 20-60 nm which is in exceptional agreement with view point of other authorities. In the next phase of this research, the effect of Seed addition with aim of improving the production of light olefins is investigated.

   Ali Alizadeh Eslami

Results of the pilot for MTO process demonstrates success of this technique, however in comparison to obtained data for hydrothermal route, enthusiasm a need to be strengthened. The fruitful achievement of this thesis is to reduce the synthesis time of MnAPSO-34 catalyst that with no doubt it has shown significant role in shrinking the costs and controlling the morphology of the final product. Suggestions for improving the synthesis of catalysts and MTO process Whit respect to in the crucial affecting parameters are presented in the last section. As a research gap the study of different Seed content is recommended for future works.
