Mohammad Ghazjahanian

Ali was Born in Tabriz, Iran in 1988. He started BSc course (2007 to 2011) in Faculty of Chemical Engineering, Sahand University of Technology (SUT), in Chemical Engineering, besides developing course materials, he began operative activity in biotechnology center along worth guidance of Dr Sirous Ebrahimi that led to his BSc. Thesis: “Biological Elimination of Hydrogen Sulfide from Flue Gases in Liquid Phase”. Now, he as a graduate student of biotechnology is working at Reactor & Catalyst Research Center (RCRC) and Tissue Engineering Research Center (TCRC), under supervision of Dr. Khoshfetrat and Dr. Haghighi on his MSc thesis.

Thesis title:           Optimization of methanol production from methane using biological method in external loop airlift bioreactor
Supervisors:
Dr. Ali Baradar Khoshfetrat and Dr. Mohammad Haghighi
Thesis abstract:

Methanol has attracted significant interest in the energetic field and important intermediate in many petrochemical products. Prevalent methods for the conversion of methane to methanol is based on partial oxidation of methane (direct conversion) and steam reforming (3 step process) that are energy intensive endothermic followed by catalytic conversion. Biological method performed at ambient pressure and temperatures is methane oxidation to methanol using bacteria. The aim of this study is design a suitable bioreactor and optimize of operative parameters such as activation MMO enzymes and inhibition MDH enzymes to increase methanol aggregate efficiency. At this work one type of methylotroph bacteria with high lag time growth phase are used.
