Sogand Aghamohammadi

Sogand was born in Tabriz in 1989. She always wanted to gain practical experience of working on scientific issues. During the high school, she decided to enter the Research Institute of Tabriz educational department. After passing the respective entrance exam, she worked on designing line following and micro mouse robots. But after passing Iranian university entrance exam, she changed the field of interest and continued in chemical engineering as B.Sc. student at sahand university of technology (SUT) in 2007. Then she joined Reactor & Catalysis Research Center and conducted research on” synthesis and evaluation of the sol-gel made nanocatalysts used in dry reforming of methane via low pressure pilot” as B.Sc. research project under supervision of Dr. Haghighi. She was accepted in the same university as M.Sc. student in 2011. Now she is working at Reactor & Catalysis Research Center on her M.Sc. thesis under supervision of Dr.haghigh.

Thesis title:           Effect of Mixed Templates in Synthesis of Nanostructured CoAPSO-34 Molecular Sieves used in Methanol to Light Olefins Conversion
Supervisor:
Dr. Mohammad Haghighi
Thesis abstract:

Nanostructured SAPO-34 molecular sieve has been reported to be the most promising catalyst for methanol to olefins (MTO) process in terms of light olefins selectivity. Abundance of natural gas concerning gas reservoirs of Iran, not fully development of MTO process owing to the malfunction of catalytic section and production of economically feasible molecular sieves are the adequate reasons for the arisen motivation to explore in this field. The conventional organic template for SAPO-34 synthesis is TEAOH. High cost of TEAOH would be a significant obstacle for commercial production of SAPO-34. Consequently, applying mixed templates compared to those prepared with single template resulted in catalyst life time enhancement and simultaneously causing the reduction in catalyst preparation costs. Metal incorporation in to SAPO-34 framework can be another effective route to prolong the catalyst life time. Co was evidenced to be capable of incorporating into crystalline structure. In this research, six sets of mixed templates were taken into account for SAPO-34 synthesis, being TEAOH/TEA, TEAOH/DEA, TEAOH/Morpholine, TEA/DEA, TEA/Morpholine and DEA/morpholine with constant composition of 50:50 (%). Synthesized CoAPSO-34s characterized by XRD, FESEM, BET, FTIR and TGA. The catalyst obtained by TEAOH/TEA mixture exhibited the smallest particle size among all the samples which led to its sufficient activity in MTO reaction.

    Sogand Aghamohammadi

The catalyst templated with DEA/Morpholine mixture illustrated the slowest deactivation. A comprehensive thermodynamic analysis of overall reactions network was carried out to address the major channels of methanol to olefins conversion.
